In this modern city, most of the people have their identity on the internet or any digital device, however, who do care about the digital security? Is it safe to share our details or privacy? How should we actually present ourselves on the internet? Also, we are always judged by our digital identity, so how should we be careful of our digital footprints and digital tattoos? It is very important to manage our digital identity on the information and communication technology. But how? Where to do it?
Take FACEBOOK as an example, we should manage our privacy. Do not let our posts be seen by “public" or “friends of friends", as it will be easily seen by someone we do not know, then our details will be revealed. Also, hide or delete some posts that are unwanted in order to avoid being seen or searched by others. Take INSTAGRAM as another example, we should be cautious and solemn. We may follow many accounts but be selective. What is more, we may use these media to promote ourselves but be careful of what we present on it.
Why do we need to manage our digital identity to “protect" our digital footprints and digital tattoos? As it is said above, we are always judged by our digital identity. For example, when we are going to have an interview at a business company, the superior will look at our social media in order to determine what kind of people we are. Here comes another question, why we need to be judged by our digital identity? Because no one can hide themselves on the internet, we are all “naked" on it.
THAT IS WHY WE NEED TO HAVE A MANAGED DIGITAL IDENTITY ON THE INTERNET TO AVOID THE BAD DIGITAL TATTOOS.
